Ultrasound and Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Tongue in Obstructive Sleep Apnoea

چکیده
To examine the geometrical parameters of tongue in obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) based on sex, age and BMI ultrasound (US) MRI. The presence OSA tongue-based obstruction can be predicted using these parameters. Of 100 patients, 64% were diagnosed with according to overnight polysomnography. MRI US devices used measure location was identified drug-induced endoscopy. Statistical analysis performed quadratic discriminant analysis. Men presented higher volumes axial diameter during Müller’s maneuver (MM) coronal In women, all examined significantly correlated apnoea-hypopnea index (AHI). A stronger correlation between AHI observed women than men. Using our algorithm, which includes anthropometric values, could 91% 82% detection successful 89% 87% MRI, whereas 70% US. combined basic parameters, high precision.

Role of magnetic resonance imaging cephalometry in obstructive sleep apnoea.
BACKGROUND Obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) is one of the most common public health problems in adults. Patients with OSA are prone for excessive adipose tissue deposition in the neck, which in turn, increases the upper airway narrowing. Of the imaging modalities available for assessing the upper airway, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is found to be useful technique for defining soft tissue abn...
متن کاملEffects of octreotide on sleep apnoea and tongue volume (magnetic resonance imaging) in patients with acromegaly.
OBJECTIVES Sleep apnoea has been consistently reported to occur in acromegaly. Both obstructive apnoeas, in which apnoeas are due to intermittent obstruction of the upper airways, as well as central apnoeas are known to occur. Because the relationship between disease activity and severity of sleep apnoea is currently unclear, we have performed a prospective study to address this issue. DESIGN...
متن کاملAnalysis of Memory-Related Brain Activation Maps in Sleep-Depriveation using Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Background and purpose: Insomnia is a common sleep disorder with negative consequences such as decreased quality of life. In this study, the effect of sleep deprivation on memory in both young and older adults was investigated using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). Materials and methods: In this retrospective study, fMRI data of 40 healthy subjects (17 young and 23 older people) w...
