Ultralightweight foundation system for peaty ground

چکیده

Construction on peat deposits represents a major challenge for the geotechnical community. Waterlogged have great potential buoyancy generation. The premise of present investigation is that this can be beneficially incorporated in foundation design practice, thereby reducing net bearing pressure and hence resulting settlements. A novel system, comprising bamboo frame (BF) structure incorporating recycled plastic block (RPB) inclusions, presented supporting lightweight structures peaty ground. effect produced by lower bulk density construction materials combined with waterlogged condition deposit. programme reduced-scale 1 g physical modelling was conducted to investigate performance BF- BF–RPB-type footing remoulded different water content fibre (FC) values. mobilised undrained capacity (q f ) increased lower-water-content higher-FC materials. Deeper BF footings inclusion RPBs within their cavities significantly improved q value. Advantages system over conventional solutions ground include its simple technology, reduced earthworks construction, settlement due contribution being more sustainable economically viable.

Ground improvement versus hybrid foundation and deep foundation – Comparison of foundation concepts for three case histories of European significance

The focus of the keynote paper is on the comparison of different foundation concepts for three case histories of European significance. The stadium in the Austrian city of Klagenfurt was designed and built for the EURO 2008 (Austria and Switzerland) in slightly consolidated soft lacustrine clays. The shallow foundation rests on floating stone columns installed with the vibro replacement techniq...

Ultralightweight Cryptography for passive RFID systems

RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is one of the most growing technologies among the pervasive systems. Non line of sight capability makes RFID systems much faster than its other contending systems such as barcodes and magnetic taps etc. But there are some allied security apprehensions with RFID systems. RFID security has been acquired a lot of attention in last few years as evinced by the l...

Ultralightweight deformable mirrors.

This paper presents a concept for ultralightweight deformable mirrors, based on a thin substrate of optical surface quality, coated with continuous active layers that provide separate modes of actuation at different length scales. This concept eliminates any kind of stiff backing structure for the mirror surface and exploits microfabrication technologies to provide tight integration of the acti...

A Method of Function Space for Vertical Impedance Function of a Circular Rigid Foundation on a Transversely Isotropic Ground

This paper is concerned with investigation of vertical impedance function of a surface rigid circular foundation resting on a semi-infinite transversely isotropic alluvium. To this end, the equations of motion in cylindrical coordinate system, which because of axissymmetry are two coupled equations, are converted into one partial differential equation using a method of potential function. The g...

Cryptanalysis of ultralightweight RFID authentication protocol

Radio frequency identification (RFID) technology is one of the most emerging technologies in the field of pervasive systems, which provides the automatic identification of the object with non-line of sight capability. RFID is much better than its contending identification scheme (Bar code) in terms of efficiency and functional haste. Although it offers many advantages over other identification ...
