چکیده
We examine x-ray scattering from an isolated organic molecule the linear to nonlinear absorptiveregime. In regime, we explore importance of both elastic and inelastic channelsand observe onset behavior as a function pulse duration energy. linearregime, test sensitivity signal molecular bonding electronic correlationvia calculations using independent atom model (IAM), Hartree-Fock (HF) density functionaltheory (DFT). Finally, describe how coherent can be used directly visualizefemtosecond charge transfer dissociation within single undergoing multiphotonabsorption.

Application of small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) for differentiation between normal and cancerous breast tissues
ABSTRACT Background: Coherent scattering leads to diffraction effects and especially constructive interferences. Theseinterferences carry some information about the molecular structure of the tissue. As breast cancer isthe most widespread cancer in women, this project evaluated the application of small angleX-ray scattering (SAXS) for differentiation between normal and cancerous breast tissues....
متن کاملThomson scattering from ultrashort and ultraintense laser pulses.
The Thomson scattering in an ultraintense ( approximately 10(18) W cm(-2)) and ultrashort (20 fs) laser field is calculated that demonstrates different characteristics from those of the low-intensity field case. The electron trajectory no longer conforms to a figure-eight pattern, and the spectra demonstrate complex shifting and broadening to suggest that Thomson scattering can be used for char...
متن کاملProducing ultrashort, ultraintense plasma-based soft-x-ray laser pulses by high-harmonic seeding
Simulations show that intense plasma-amplified pulses of 100 fs duration and below are feasible by seeding specifically tailored plasma with an ultrashort pulse of high harmonic radiation. Seeding overcomes gain narrowing by driving amplifying media into saturation earlier, and compensates for reduced gain resulting from boosting the lasing transition linewidth. We conclude that ultrahigh inten...
متن کاملUltrafast X-ray Scattering from Molecules.
We present a theoretical framework for the analysis of ultrafast X-ray scattering experiments using nonadiabatic quantum molecular dynamics simulations of photochemical dynamics. A detailed simulation of a pump-probe experiment in ethylene is used to examine the sensitivity of the scattering signal to simulation parameters. The results are robust with respect to the number of wavepackets includ...
