UK consumers’ willingness to try and pay for eggs from insect-fed hens

Willingness to try (WTT) and willingness pay (WTP) for eggs produced from insect-fed hens the determinants of these behaviours were investigated in UK. Data a sample egg consumers (N=294) was collected using an online survey. Factors influencing WTT WTP evaluated binary logistic regression censored (Tobit) regression. Only 17% participants aware insects as potential animal feed. Most willing (72%) (87%) product, with portion who not but buy at low enough price. most significantly influenced by disgust barrier positive attitudes towards product driver consumption. This suggests be offset information about product's benefits. While environmental welfare did affect WTP, food neophobia, previous tasting experience food, hen concerns price acceptance adoption. A substantial proportion indicated they would 18% more eggs, suggesting there is introduce them premium UK market.
