چکیده

Background: antioxidants play an important role in preventing cell damage and generating inhibition of signalling pathways cancer, aging various diseases. Several extracts, oils, herbal formulations were shown to be Antioxidant agents for damage. Jarak Pagar (Jatropha Curcas) leaves. a common natural phytochemical screening Jatropha leaves that contained flavonoids, where flavonoids acted as antioxidants. Objectives: this study aims determine the cytotoxic activity ethanol extract using DPPH shrimp larvae method, respectively. Methods: design was quasi-experimental, concentrations vitamin C (comparison control) inhibiting free radicals each Concentration repeated three repetitions. The research conducted at Laboratory Chemistry FMIPA Palangka Raya University Education FKIP Halu Oleo 2022. weighing 60 grams extracted Soxhletion method obtain 1.667 thick extract. Phytochemical characterization further by tube tests (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) test assessed Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method. data analysis used One Way Anova statistical continued with post hoc Tamhane 95% Cl.Results: results showed curcas L. several secondary metabolites such saponins, alkaloids, polyphenols tannins. Furthermore, L control (vitamin C) provided IC50 32.83 ± 0.09 (μg/mL) 8.78 0.21 (μg/mL), respectively. Another finding found active compounds toxic LC50 427 ppm. Based on test, had significant difference percentage radical scavenging (p= 0,05). 160 ppm is most effective scavenging. Conclusion: we concluded strong potential anticancer agent
