Type 2 diabetes (T2D) was first noted in Indigenous pediatric populations the early 1980s. children are disproportionately affected, experiencing higher rates of adverse outcomes than with type 1 or adults T2D. Nurse practitioners must manage screening, diagnosis, and treatment T2D among youth living remotely.
