Binary Search on Two-Dimensional Data
We consider the problem of searching for the predecessor (largest element that is smaller than some key) among elements that are organized as a matrix such that every row and every column is weakly monotonic (sorted matrix). The results are matching upper and lower bounds for the number of accesses to the matrix and comparisons with the key.
متن کاملModified collision packet classification using counting bloom filter in tuple space
Packet classification continues to be an important challenge in network processing. It requires matching each packet against a database of rules and forwarding the packet according to the highest priority matching rule. Within the packet classification hash-based algorithms, an algorithm that is gaining interest is the tuple space search algorithm that groups the rules into a set of tuple space...
متن کاملHierarchical packet classification using a Bloom filter and rule-priority tries
Packet classification techniques have received significant attention in the network literature over the past 10 years, due to its fundamental role in the Internet routers. In recent years, Bloom filter, which is an efficient data structure for membership queries, becomes popular in the network applications. Though Bloom filter allows an error called ‘‘false positives,” the efficiency and the sp...
متن کاملOn the Security of In-Packet Bloom-Filter Forwarding
Multicast protocols traditionally require that routers store information about the delivery trees. Recently, source-routed in-packet Bloom-filter (iBF) based multicast has been proposed as a remedy to this: instead of storing state in the network, the delivery tree is encoded in the packet itself using a Bloom filter. The packets are then forwarded based on the in-packet information instead of ...
متن کاملTwo-dimensional packet classification algorithm using a quad-tree
For the last few years, there is an explosive growth in the development and the deployment of network applications that transmit and receive audio and video over the Internet. In order for such multimedia applications to function properly, networks need to provide the level of performance, which is called the quality of services (QoS). An essential element for the Internet routers to provide th...
