چکیده
NIR-Responsive Nanotherapeutics In article number 2101212, Hyung Joon Cha and co-workers develop NIR-activatable tumoradhesive proteinic nanoparticles by using tunicate-inspired bioinorganic chemistry to realize effective photothermal activity with high bioavailability achieve multimodal tumor-specific therapy. The vanadium ion-doped adhesive exhibit a remarkable capability, on-demand NO gas, anticancer drug release in “bomb-like” manner, robust retention of multiple therapeutics within tumors, thereby leading excellent responses.

Metamaterials: Snapping Mechanical Metamaterials under Tension (Adv. Mater. 39/2015).
By exploiting snap-through instabilities, D. Pasini and co-workers design a damage-tolerant mechanical metamaterial that snaps sequentially under tension, thereby accommodating a very large deformation up to 150%. On page 5931, they describe how the nonlinear mechanical response of the metamaterial can be robustly programmed by tuning the architecture of its unit cell.

The mechanical mismatch between soft neural tissues and stiff neural implants hinders the long-term performance of implantable neuroprostheses. Here, we designed and fabricated soft neural implants with the shape and elasticity of dura mater, the protective membrane of the brain and spinal cord. The electronic dura mater, which we call e-dura, embeds interconnects, electrodes, and chemotrodes t...

متن کاملMultimodal therapy for chronic tinnitus.
From 2001 to 2006, we performed a retrospective study of patients suffering from chronic unilateral or bilateral tinnitus that was previously ineffectively treated by oral drugs [betahistine (Betaserc), extract of Ginkgo biloba (EGb 761), tanakan (Tebokan), and cinnarizine-dimenhydrinate (Arlevert), singly or in combination]. We divided 150 tinnitus patients (80 men, 70 women) into seven treatm...
