Tunable Iron–Cobalt Thin Films Grown by Electrodeposition

Iron–cobalt (FeCo) alloys are highly desirable for their exceptional and adjustable physicochemical properties, particularly in the form of thin films. This study focuses on growth iron–cobalt alloy films using potentiostatic electrodeposition. The effects applied voltage FeCo stoichiometry morphology, structure, magnetic properties investigated. results indicate that electrodeposition potential does not affect overall or structural properties. However, it impact film thickness grain sizes. Higher potentials lead to thicker with faster rates, as well smoother more homogeneous smaller grains. Films different Fe:Co ratios (Fe90Co10, Fe50Co50, Fe10Co90) obtained, compositions have a direct amount Fe influencing thickness, Increasing content (50, 90%) leads low (10%) exhibit face-centered cubic (fcc) phase instead typical body-centered (bcc) structure. All display soft characteristic coercivities, sample fcc structure exhibits highest coercivity among all samples. nucleation mechanisms investigated curves Scharifker Hills model. higher mechanism identified instantaneous diffusion-controlled regime.
