Tunable Exchange-Bias-Like Effect in Bi -Substituted Gadolinium Iron Garnet Film

چکیده
Using magneto-optical Faraday and Kerr measurements, we investigate the magnetic properties of a thick $\mathrm{Bi}$-substituted gadolinium iron garnet film over broad range wavelengths (250--850 nm) temperatures (150--300 K), including magnetization compensation point, ${T}_{M}$. We observe an exchange-bias-like effect in vicinity By slightly changing sample temperature, can precisely tune bias field, which reaches magnitude 6 times higher than coercive field. explain this phenomenon by considering short-range superexchange interaction change behavior when moving from surface to bulk film. This finding may lead development single-film devices based on exchange-bias effect.

Spin-Wave Spectra of Yttrium and Gadolinium Iron Garnet
The problem of deducing the values of the exchange integrals in yttrium and gadolinium iron garnet from measurements of the magnetization and the magnetic contribution to the specific heat at low temperatures is considered. For these garnets the spin-wave normal modes can be found by solving the semiclassical equations of motion which give rise to a set of n simultaneous linear equations, where...
متن کاملObservation of an atomic exchange bias effect in DyCo4 film
The fundamental important and technologically widely employed exchange bias effect occurs in general in bilayers of magnetic thin films consisting of antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic layers where the hard magnetization behavior of an antiferromagnetic thin film causes a shift in the magnetization curve of a soft ferromagnetic film. The minimization of the single magnetic grain size to increa...
متن کاملPhase Diagram for Magnon Condensate in Yttrium Iron Garnet Film
Recently, magnons, which are quasiparticles describing the collective motion of spins, were found to undergo Bose-Einstein condensation (BEC) at room temperature in films of Yttrium Iron Garnet (YIG). Unlike other quasiparticle BEC systems, this system has a spectrum with two degenerate minima, which makes it possible for the system to have two condensates in momentum space. Recent Brillouin Li...
متن کاملTunable negative index metamaterial using yttrium iron garnet
A magnetic field tunable, broadband, low-loss, negative refractive index metamaterial is fabricated using yttrium iron garnet (YIG) and a periodic array of copper wires. The tunability is demonstrated from 18 to 23GHz under an applied magnetic field with a figure of merit of 4.2GHz/kOe. The tuning bandwidth is measured to be 5GHz compared to 0.9GHz for fixed field. We measure a minimum insertio...
