Truncated Edge Cuprous Oxide Cube Architecture for Reduction of Nitrophenols
نویسندگان
چکیده
ABSTRACT Truncated cubic Cu-oxide nanocrystals with edge lengths of ca. 600 nm were prepared employing the low-cost copper (II) chloride as precursor. XRD revealed that truncated are present in both CuI and Cu0 state. XPS characterisation gives insight into amount each state as-prepared, oxidised, reduced recovered catalyst species. The catalytic activity was tested for reduction nitrophenols using NaBH4. After one cycle 4-nitrophenol, almost halved. SEM images showed some disfigurement structure, confirmed to metallic Cu0. Keywords: Cu-oxide, nanocrystal, nitrophenol, catalysis, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.

Synthesis of Cuprous Oxide by Thermal Treatment in Liquid Paraffin
Cu2O nanoparticles were synthesized by thermal treatment in liquid paraffin without any inert gas protection using nano structures of Schiff base copper (II) complex (1) as precursor. Liquid paraffin was used as solvent and reductant. Span 80 was applied to control the morphology of cuprous oxide nanoparticles. The nano structure of the complex was characterized by X-ray diffraction measurement...
متن کاملSynthesis of cuprous oxide nanocomposite electrodes by room-temperature chemical partial reduction.
We demonstrate a template-free synthetic approach for the preparation of a highly conductive Cu/Cu(2)O nanocomposite electrode by a chemical reduction process. Cu(2)O octahedra were prepared through chemical dehydrogenation of as-synthesized Cu(OH)(2) nanowire precursors. To provide a sufficiently electron-conducting network, the Cu(2)O particles were transformed into Cu/Cu(2)O nanocomposites b...

متن کاملCuprous oxide nanoparticles selectively induce apoptosis of tumor cells
In the rapid development of nanoscience and nanotechnology, many researchers have discovered that metal oxide nanoparticles have very useful pharmacological effects. Cuprous oxide nanoparticles (CONPs) can selectively induce apoptosis and suppress the proliferation of tumor cells, showing great potential as a clinical cancer therapy. Treatment with CONPs caused a G1/G0 cell cycle arrest in tumo...
