Triple Collocation Analysis of Satellite Precipitation Estimates over Australia

چکیده

The validation of precipitation estimates is necessary for the selection most appropriate dataset, as well having confidence in its selection. Traditional against gauges or radars much less effective when quality these references (which are considered ‘truth’) degrades, such areas poor coverage. In scenarios like this where ‘truth’ unreliable unknown, triple collocation analysis (TCA) facilitates a relative ranking independent datasets based on their similarity to each other. TCA has been successfully employed error estimation earlier studies, but thorough evaluation effectiveness over Australia not completed before. This study assesses use verification using satellite combination with reanalysis data (ERA5) and rain gauge (AGCD) monthly timescale from 2001 2020. Both additive multiplicative models evaluated. These results compared traditional method Multi-Source Weighted-Ensemble Precipitation (MSWEP) references. AGCD (KGE = 0.861), CMORPH-BLD (0.835), CHIRPS (0.743), GSMaP (0.708) were respectively found have highest KGE MSWEP. datasets, difference performance amongst derived TCA, can largely be reconciled methods, illustrating that valid Australia. Additionally, model was prone outliers provided spatial pattern more consistent methods.

Error-Component Analysis of TRMM-Based Multi-Satellite Precipitation Estimates over Mainland China

The Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) Multi-Satellite Precipitation Analysis (TMPA) products have been widely used, but their error and uncertainty characteristics over diverse climate regimes still need to be quantified. In this study, we focused on a systematic evaluation of TMPA’s error characteristics over mainland China, with an improved error-component analysis procedure. We perf...

Evaluation of three high-resolution satellite precipitation estimates: Potential for monsoon monitoring over Pakistan

Multi-sensor precipitation datasets including two products from the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) Multi-satellite Precipitation Analysis (TMPA) and estimates from Climate Prediction Center Morphing Technique (CMORPH) product were quantitatively evaluated to study the monsoon variability over Pakistan. Several statistical and graphical techniques are applied to illustrate the noncon...

Hydrological Assessment of Daily Satellite Precipitation Products over a Basin in Iran

In order to measure precipitation as the main variable for estimating the runoff and designing hydraulic structures, the satellite algorithm products that have the proper spatial and temporal coverage, can be used. In this study, at first, the daily streamflow simulation of Sarough-Cahy River from the Zarinehroud basin was conducted through the artificial neural network (ANN) and ground data of...
