An Image-Based System for Change Detection on Tunnel Linings
We present an automated system for detecting visual changes on tunnel linings. By registering new images to a three-dimensional tunnel surface model, recovered using Structure and Motion techniques, we are able to detect and localise changes accurately in order to assist visual inspection by a human expert. We formulate the problem of detecting changes probabilistically and exploit different fe...
متن کاملStudies on Copper Metabolism*
The results of studies on certain enzymes, hemin chromoproteins, and iron and copper in the tissues of normal, copper-deficient, and iron-deficient swine are reported in this paper. It has been suggested that the enzymes cytochrome oxidase (l-3), uricase (4), tyrosinase (5), plasma polyphenol oxidase (coeruloplasmin) (6), glutathione oxidase (7), and butyryl coenzyme A dehydrogenase (8) either ...
متن کاملThe friction, mobility and transfer of tribological films: potassium chloride and ferrous chloride on iron
The tribological properties of FeCl2, measured using an ultrahigh vacuum tribometer, are compared with those of KCl. The friction coefficient of an FeCl2 film evaporated onto iron in ultrahigh vacuum decreases to ∼0.08 after the deposition of a film ∼40 Å thick. This value is in good agreement with that measured for reactively formed FeCl2 films in a pin and v-block apparatus. The contact resis...
متن کاملMicroscopic Friction Studies on Metal Surfaces
Atomically flat and clean metal surfaces exhibit a regime of ultra-low friction at low normal loads. Atomic force microscopy, performed in ultra-high vacuum on Cu(100) and Au(111) surfaces, reveals a clear stick-slip modulation in the lateral force but almost zero dissipation. Significant friction is observed only for higher loads (*4– 6 nN above the pull-off force) together with the onset of w...
