چکیده
The tribological behavior of a nickel-based single crystal superalloy treated by shot-peening has been investigated. Friction tests under three normal loads and temperatures were carried out based on the ball-on-disk configuration. results showed that coefficient friction (COF) wear rate shot-peened (SP-NBSC) at room temperature nearly 2 times 4 600 ?, respectively. However, there no significant differences in COF between SP-NBSC as-received NBSC superalloy, which was ascribed to competing effects increased hardness roughness superalloy. High-temperature promoted formation glaze-layer substrate, derived from sintering compacting debris. formed prevented direct contact pair contributed reduced rate. mechanism high including oxidation, adhesion, abrasion. With decreasing load increasing temperature, adhesive weakened. This work provided insights into treatment properties

The realisation of employing Additive Layer Manufacturing (ALM) technologies to produce components in the aerospace industry is significantly increasing. This can be attributed to their ability to offer the near-net shape fabrication of fully dense components with a high potential for geometrical optimisation, all of which contribute to subsequent reductions in material wastage and component we...
متن کاملPreferred growth orientation and microsegregation behaviors of eutectic in a nickel-based single-crystal superalloy
A nickel-based single-crystal superalloy was employed to investigate the preferred growth orientation behavior of the (γ + γ') eutectic and the effect of these orientations on the segregation behavior. A novel solidification model for the eutectic island was proposed. At the beginning of the eutectic island's crystallization, the core directly formed from the liquid by the eutectic reaction, an...
متن کاملModelling plastic deformation in a single-crystal nickel-based superalloy using discrete dislocation dynamics
Background: Nickel-based superalloys are usually exposed to high static or cyclic loads in non-ambient environment, so a reliable prediction of their mechanical properties, especially plastic deformation, at elevated temperature is essential for improved damage-tolerance assessment of components. Methods: In this paper, plastic deformation in a single-crystal nickel-based superalloy CMSX4 at el...

In this dissertation the work done in the projects KME-410/502 will be presented. The overall objective in these projects is to evaluate and develop tools for designing against fatigue in single-crystal nickel-base superalloys in gas turbines. Experiments have been done on single-crystal nickel-base superalloy specimens in order to investigate the mechanical and fatigue behaviour of the materia...
