چکیده
Objective: To identify the trends of red cell alloimmunization in multi-transfused females using blood panels.Study design: Cross-sectional study.
Place and Duration Study: Army Medical College Armed Forces Institute Transfusion with collaboration Pak Emirates Military Hospital, Rawalpindi Pakistan, from Jan to Aug 2018.
Methodology: Blood samples 75 prior history transfusion were collected selected by a non-probability consecutive sampling technique. After pilot diagnostic tests for ABO Rh D grouping, screened three panels presence RBCs alloimmunization. Positive results further recognized 11 panels.
Results: Seventy-five women at least one screening The frequency alloantibodies transfused was 1(1.3%). only alloantibody identified anti-e, which rare alloantibody.
Conclusion: Study confirmed that are most prevalent antibodies, regardless age, grouping ethnicity. Our study also multiple transfusions associated development

Alloimmunization Prevents the Migration of Transfused
“In-labeled granulocytes were used to study the effects of histocompatibility factors on the migration of transfused granulocytes to infected sites. Fourteen alloimmunized and 20 nonalloimmunized patients received approximately 108 “In-labeled granulocytes from ABO-compatible. non-HIAmatched donors. and scans were performed over known infected sites. All 14 alloimmunized patients had lymphocyto...
متن کاملRed cell alloimmunization in repeatedly transfused patients
INTRODUCTION Repeated blood transfusions can result in the production of alloantibodies against one or more red cell antigens, which complicates subsequent transfusions. Aims: The study was done to find incidence of various red cell alloantibodies; to determine the type of alloantibody; to identify the factors such as frequency of transfusion, splenectomy status, donor ethnicity and gender and ...
متن کاملRed Blood Cells Alloimmunization and Autoimmunization in Multi-transfused Thalassemia Patients in South of Iran
Background: Recurrent blood transfusion is a common treatment in patients with thalassemia. The development of antibodies against red blood cell (RBC) antigens complicates RBC cross-matching, enhances the in vivo destruction of transfused cells, accelerates tissue iron overloading, delays the provision of safe transfusion, and reduces health-related quality of life. Materials and Methods: In t...
متن کاملAlloimmunization to public HLA antigens in multi-transfused platelet recipients.
Multitransfused recipients of random donor platelet concentrates frequently form broadly-reactive human leukocyte antigen (HLA) antibodies which restrict the pool of suitable donors to those who are HLA matched with the recipient. In an effort to expand the donor pool for such patients, a retrospective analysis of the antibodies formed by alloimmunized recipients was performed taking sensitizat...
متن کاملThe Impact of Extended Typing On Red Blood Cell Alloimmunization in Transfused Patients
BACKGROUND Red blood cell (RBC) alloimmunization is still an actual problem in our transfusion practice. In 2011, in addition to the regular ABO/D blood group typing, phenotyping for Rh (C, c, E, e) and Kell antigens was introduced for blood donors and patients undergoing blood transfusion. Our aim was to evaluate the impact of the extended RBC typing and donor/recipient matching on the inciden...
