Upper-Limb Robotic Rehabilitation Exoskeleton: Tremor Suppression
The interest of the scientific community in medical Robotics and rehabilitation Robotics is growing every year. Rehabilitation Robotics aims to apply robotic technology (sensors, actuators, control) to the rehabilitation and assistance of disabled people. Only some years ago developers were able to implement viable robotic systems to assist a person with a functional limitation. Thus, devices h...
متن کاملSuperior Foville syndrome due to pontine hemorrhage: a case report
The Superior Foville Syndrome is a rare clinical feature of stroke or brain hemorrhage. Few cases have been reported worldwide particularly in Africa. We report the case of a 20 years old patient resident in Senegal with no known medical history. He was admitted on August 2015 in the Neurology Department of Fann National Teaching Hospital for an abrupt onset of left body side weakness, acute he...
متن کاملSevere Bilateral Kinetic Tremor Due to Unilateral Midbrain Lesions
Background The dentatothalamic tract connects the dentate nucleus of the cerebellum with the contralateral thalamus and plays a major role in the pathogenesis of tremor. Unilateral lesions of the dentatothalamic pathway may affect its ipsilateral predecussational or its contralateral postdecussational course, which results either in ipsilateral or in contralateral tremor. Case Report Here, we...

This case report describes the occurrence of non-specific upper limb symptoms, in a 47-year-old female scientific officer, associated, with manual pipetting. The discussion considers the difficulty of risk assessment and reduction for this common procedure.
متن کاملVim thalamotomy in a patient with Holmes’ tremor and palatal tremor - Pathophysiological considerations
BACKGROUND We peformed a ventral intermediate nucleus (Vim) thalamotomy in a patient with Holmes' tremor and palatal tremor. The frequencies of these movement disorders were 4 Hz and 3 Hz, respectively. Vim thalamotomy stopped the Holmes' tremor but not the palatal tremor. Our observations suggest different mechanisms for these two involuntary movements. CASE PRESENTATION A 57-arm 11 months a...
