Treatment of Poultry Slaughterhouse Wastewater with Membrane Technologies: A Review

نویسندگان

چکیده

Poultry slaughterhouses produce a large amount of wastewater, which is usually treated by conventional methods. The traditional techniques face some challenges, especially the incapability recovering valuable nutrients and reusing water. Therefore, membrane technology has been widely adopted researchers due to its enormous advantages over Pressure-driven membranes, such as microfiltration (MF), ultrafiltration (UF), nanofiltration (NF), reverse osmosis (RO), have studied purify poultry slaughterhouse wastewater (PSWW) standalone process or an integrated with other procedures. Membrane showed excellent performance providing high efficiency for pollutant removal recovery water products. It may remove approximately all pollutants from PSWW required level discharge environment even reuse industrial processing purposes while being economically efficient. This article comprehensively reviews treatment MF, UF, NF, RO. Most can be recovered high-quality in produced RO PSWW. incredible indicates that alternative approach treating

Poultry Slaughterhouse Wastewater Treatment Using Anaerobic Fluid Bed Reactor and Aerobic Mobile-Bed Biological Reactor

This research evaluated the efficiency of combined anaerobic-aerobic processes for the treatment of slaughterhouse wastewater. The anaerobic reactor consists of a 3.95 L Plexiglas column with 60 mm diameter and 140 cm height. The cylindrical particles of polyvinyl chloride with 2 mm diameter and 1250 kg m-3 density packed to 60 cm of column were used as biomass saving material. The d...

Treatment of poultry slaughterhouse wastewater in upflow anaerobic filter under low upflow velocity

The wastewater discharged by poultry slaughterhouse industries are characterized mainly by high biochemical oxygen demand, high suspended solids and complex mixture of fats, proteins and fibers requiring systematic treatment prior to disposal. In this study, the performance of an upflow anaerobic filter reactor for treating Indian poultry slaughterhouse wastewater under low upflow velocity of 1...
