چکیده
Brown-Sequard syndrome (BSS) is an uncommon condition caused by a localized injury to one side of the spinal cord. It rarely reported present because cervical disc herniation (CDH), especially as result 2 consecutive discs prolapse, with only 8 cases worldwide, 4 which have levels C5-C6, C6-C7 being affected just like case we are presenting. A 45 years male had complained left-sided body pain and numbness following fall, his symptoms progressing over two weeks left hemiparesis impaired sensation; MRI C spine revealed C6- C7 prolapse cord compression resulting in BSS. The patient was treated surgically anterior discectomy fusion (ACDF) followed physiotherapy. showed complete recovery terms sensory motor deficits both right upper lower limbs. We stressing role detailed history, comprehensive neurological examination, proper imaging early diagnosis Treatment surgical intervention recommended approach most associated excellent prognosis.

A rare case of Brown-Sequard syndrome caused by cervical disc herniation: a case report
Brown-Sequard syndrome is a rare neurological disorder characterized by ipsilateral motor paralysis caused by a lesion through corticospinal tract and contralateral loss of pain and temperature sensation due to the involvement of spinothalamic tract. Cervical disc herniation has been reported to be a rare cause of Brown-Séquard's syndrome. This paper aims to report a case of Brown-Sequard syndr...
متن کاملHigh cervical disc herniation and Brown-Sequard syndrome. A case report and review of the literature.
We describe a rare herniation of the disc at the C2/C3 level in a 73-year-old woman. It caused hemicompression of the spinal cord and led to the Brown-Sequard syndrome. The condition was diagnosed clinically and by MRI six months after onset. Discectomy and fusion gave complete neurological resolution.
متن کاملCervical epidural haematoma causing Brown-Sequard syndrome: a case report.
Brown-Sequard syndrome secondary to compression of the spinal cord by an epidural haematoma following minor trauma is rare. A 65-year-old woman presented with neck pain and sudden onset hemiplegia with contralateral anaesthesia. Magnetic resonance imaging showed a haematoma in the epidural space in the C3 to C5 levels. She underwent open-door laminoplasty for evacuation of the haematoma. At the...
متن کاملIdiopathic Spinal Cord Herniation Presented as Brown-Sequard Syndrome : A Case Report and Surgical Outcome.
Spinal cord herniation is a rare condition that has become increasingly recognised in the last few years. The authors report a case of idiopathic spinal cord herniation in a 33 year old woman performed with progressive Brown-Sequard syndrome. The diagnosis was made on MR imaging. After repairing the herniation, the patient made a gradual improvement. Potential causes are discussed, including a ...
متن کاملSpontaneous cervical epidural hematoma causing Brown-Sequard syndrome: case report.
OBJECTIVE Spontaneously occurring epidural hematoma without any identified etiology is a rare phenomenon. These are often neurosurgical emergencies; therefore, prompt diagnosis and treatment are paramount. Because of the rarity of this condition, we illustrated its presentation, evaluation and management in this recent case. CASE A 63-year-old male presented to our emergency room with right-s...
