Radiative heat transfer: many-body effects
Heat transfer by electromagnetic radiation is one of the common methods of energy transfer between objects. Using the fluctuation-dissipation theorem, we have studied the effect of particle arrangement in the transmission of radiative heat in many-body systems. In order to show the effect of the structure morphology on the collective properties, the radiative heat transfer is studied and the re...
متن کاملCorrelated trapped bosons and the many-body Efimov effect.
We study two-body correlations in systems of identical bosons. We use a Faddeev type of decomposition of the wave function where all pairs of particles are treated equally. At large scattering length appears a series of Efimov-like states, i.e., spatially extended, model-independent many-body bound states inside the trap. They may play a role in the decay of Bose-Einstein condensates.
متن کاملPartial Dynamical Symmetry in a Fermionic Many-body System
The fundamental concept underlying algebraic theories in quantum physics is that of an exact or dynamical symmetry. Realistic quantum systems, however, often require the associated symmetry to be broken in order to allow for a proper description of some observed basic features. Partial dynamical symmetry (PDS) describes an intermediate situation in which some eigenstates exhibit a symmetry whic...
متن کاملCommensurability effects for fermionic atoms trapped in 1D optical lattices.
Fermionic atoms in two different hyperfine states confined in optical lattices show strong commensurability effects due to the interplay between the atomic density wave ordering and the lattice potential. We show that spatially separated regions of commensurable and incommensurable phases can coexist. The commensurability between the harmonic trap and the lattice sites can be used to control th...
متن کاملHalf-metallic ferromagnets: From band structure to many-body effects
A review of new developments in theoretical and experimental electronic structure investigations of half-metallic ferromagnets (HMF) is presented. Being semiconductors for one spin projection and metals for another ones, these substances are promising magnetic materials for applications in spintronics (i.e., spin-dependent electronics). Classification of HMF by the peculiarities of their electr...
