Transoral Endoscopic Modified Radical Neck Dissection for Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background Recently, transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy via the vestibular approach (TOETVA) has become popular worldwide.1–3 After controlling for technique, authors used to modified radical neck dissection (MRND) papillary thyroid carcinoma with clinically positive lymph nodes in lateral compartments. To best of their knowledge, report first case TOETVA MRND. Patient A 27-year-old woman had a diagnosis cT1aN1bM0 right (metastatic small level 4 node). Therefore, total thyroidectomy, bilateral central dissection, and MRND levels 2, 3, were performed approach. Methods Total node dissections based on three-trocar Anuwong technique.4 Then, fourth incision was made near sixth teeth oral area insertion 5-mm trocar, which expose compartment perform easily. Results The operation completed successfully without conversion open surgery. operative time 170 min, operating 55 min. numbers harvested 7 8 compartments, respectively. metastatic 2 1 No major postoperative complications occurred. Conclusion Transoral can be feasible safe highly selected patients.

Indications for bilateral modified radical neck dissection in patients with papillary carcinoma of the thyroid.
HYPOTHESES After subtotal thyroidectomy with modified radical neck dissection of the affected side, nodal recurrence at the contralateral cervical side indicates a poor prognosis for patients with papillary thyroid cancer. Bilateral modified radical neck dissection is beneficial for patients at high risk for contralateral nodal recurrence. DESIGN AND SETTING Retrospective study of patients wi...
متن کاملRobotic modified radical neck dissection by bilateral axillary breast approach for papillary thyroid carcinoma with lateral neck metastasis.
BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to evaluate the safety of robotic modified radical neck dissection compared to open modified radical neck dissection. METHODS We enrolled 78 patients who were diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer and underwent total thyroidectomy, bilateral central neck dissection, and modified radical neck dissection between March 2011 and February 2013. Of these p...

Correspondence To the Editor: We have read with interest the article reported by Guo et al., [1] who performed a transoral thyroidectomy with central neck dissection on human cadavers by using a sublingual combined bilateral vestibular access. Interestingly, the described technique is identical to our approach that we published as a video paper in 2009. Although we could demonstrate the surgica...
متن کاملCentral neck dissection for papillary thyroid cancer.
BACKGROUND Central compartment lymph node dissection is a common adjunct to thyroidectomy in the treatment of papillary thyroid cancer. The indications, surgical technique, potential benefits, and operative risks of this procedure should be clearly defined in order to provide optimal care to these patients. METHODS A systematic review of the literature and an analysis of evidence-based recomm...
متن کاملCentral neck compartment dissection in papillary thyroid carcinoma: An update
Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) is the most common thyroid malignancy, accounting for approximatley 90% of thyroid malignancies in areas of the world without deficit of Iodine. It’s universally accepted that total thyroi dectomy is the minimal surgical treatment for patients with PTC higher than 1 cm. When a quality surgery is performed, the prognosis for PTC is excellent with 10 and 20-year...
