Transformational leadership and the European Foundation for Quality Management model in five-star hotels

 Purpose
 This work analyses quality management (through the European Foundation for Quality Management-EFQM-model) and transformational leadership in hotels Spain.
 Design/methodology/approach
 The study 102 5-star large luxury that answer a questionnaire on EFQM model. It degree of importance hotels, significant differences between groups (according to stars, size, modality type product) association quality.
 Findings
 results show levels leadership, minor an two variables. In general, chain-affiliated have higher level more advanced employee process than independent hotels. Also, those focus vacational product lower attention strategy dimension number employees is not important factor adopt quality. Finally, allows advance development management.
 Originality/value
 Although there are studies quality, few examine same study, mainly tourism industry, especially case hotel industry.
