چکیده

Sorghum is an important crop, and starch phenolic compounds are major components in the sorghum grain. However, underlying critical genetic elements contributing to rich portfolio of nutrients grains largely unknown. Transcriptomic methods were employed characterize expression patterns at five different grain developmental stages Hongyingzi (an brewing sorghum), another two sorghums, Jinuoliang 1 Hongliangfeng 1, for comparison. The uniquely expressed genes identified each stage when compared with other cultivars. co-regulated regulatory network determined; determinant single-nucleotide polymorphisms located promoters these involved biosynthetic pathways also identified. These results will provide insights into potential further contribute clarification key biosyntheses compounds. Meanwhile, some new transcripts of three Our work can impetus study responsible biosynthesis grain, pave a way functional validation batch proposed current work.

Genetic engineering of grain sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L

PhD thesis Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench), the fifth most important cereal crop in the world, is one of the most important staple crops in Africa and South Asia and represents the only viable food grain for many of the world’s most food insecure people. However, sorghum grain shares the typical nutritional deficiencies of cereal grains, a low content of several essential amino acids. There...

Molecular mapping of QTLs conferring stay-green in grain sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench).

Drought resistance is of enormous importance in crop production. The identification of genetic factors involved in plant response to drought stress provides a strong foundation for improving drought tolerance. Stay-green is a drought resistance trait in sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench) that gives plants resistance to premature senescence under severe soil moisture stress during the post-flow...

MOROKOSHI: Transcriptome Database in Sorghum bicolor

In transcriptome analysis, accurate annotation of each transcriptional unit and its expression profile is essential. A full-length cDNA (FL-cDNA) collection facilitates the refinement of transcriptional annotation, and accurate transcription start sites help to unravel transcriptional regulation. We constructed a normalized FL-cDNA library from eight growth stages of aerial tissues in Sorghum b...

Analysis of grain yield stability and assessment of genotype × environment interaction for grain sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench) genotypes

The interaction of genotype × environment creates complications in yield prediction and is a challenge for agronomy and plant breeding programs. To evaluate grain yield stability and genotype × environment interaction for 18 local and exotic grain sorghum cultivars, lines, and hybrids, a field experiment was conducted using randomized complete block design with three replications in four region...

Metabolism of metolachlor by a microsomal fraction isolated from grain sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) shoots.

A microsomal fraction isolated from the shoots of 3- to 4-day-old, dark-grown, grain sorghum (Sorghum bicolor cv. Funk G 522 DR) seedlings was characterized. The preparations had a cytochrome P-450 content that varied from approximately 90 to 150 pmol P-450/mg protein with cytochrome P-420 varying from 0 to 3% of the P-450 content. Type I difference spectra were formed with cinnamic acid and me...
