Trace Element Concentrations and Mineralogy of Quartz Vein Deposits from Southeastern Hubei Province, China

Hydrothermal quartz samples collected from the Fujiashan and Yipanqiu deposits in southeastern Hubei Province, China have been investigated by analytical combination of optical microscopy, scanning electron inductively coupled plasma emission spectroscopy, conjunction with conventional beneficiation processing to evaluate their potential as sources high purity (HPQ) a commercial perspective. Microscopy efforts reveal that major mineral impurities associated are K-feldspar, muscovite, iron oxides, rutile accessory kaolinite. Bulk trace element concentrations processed products demonstrate Fujiashan-II vein cumulative less than 50 ?g g?1 <30 Al <10 Ti fits lattice-bound criteria for HPQ, meeting requirement HPQ deposit. However, not promising production due fluid inclusion contents, intimate intergrowth texture highly variable crystal size, probably contents. The early Neoproterozoic likely experienced long-term retrograde metamorphism-related recrystallisation which might contribute high-purity formation.
