Toxicity of chlortetracycline and oxytetracycline on Vallisneria natans (Lour.) Hare

چکیده
Tetracyclines are frequently detected in water bodies due to their widespread use aquaculture and animal husbandry. A hydroponic experiment was conducted explore the phytotoxic effects of Vallisneria natans (Lour.) Hare exposed various concentrations chlortetracycline (CTC) oxytetracycline (OTC) (0, 0.1, 1, 10, 30, 50, 100 mg/L) for 7 days (7 D) 14 (14 D), respectively. The results showed that similar OTC treatment D, relative growth rates (RGR) catalase (CAT) activity V. natans, after D CTC exposure, decreased significantly at 10 mg/L 30 mg/L, content soluble protein notably when ? mg/L. hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) stimulated while it hardly changed CTC. After malondialdehyde (MDA) H2O2 contents were higher than those control group under a high concentration (? mg/L), but they did not change polyphenol oxidase (PPO), first significant increase then decreases; maximum value (125% control) noticed CTC, remained unchanged OTC. 0.1 OTC, RGR, CAT, peroxidase (POD) activities, evidently harm chlorophyll reductions carotenoid more pronounced b. suggest both have negative effect on can cause oxidative damage harms metabolism process without inducing damage. Overall, toxicity is stronger

Phytotoxicity of four herbicides on Ceratophyllum demersum, Vallisneria natans and Elodea nuttallii.
The physiological effects of 4 herbicides (butachlor, quinclorac, bensulfuron-methyl and atrazine) on 3 submerged macrophytes (Ceratophyllum demersum, Vallisneria natans and Elodea nuttallii) were tested in laboratory. The variables of the relative growth rate and the photosynthetic pigment content showed that all of the tested herbicides affected the growth of the plants obviously, even at the...
متن کاملResponse of Vallisneria natans to Increasing Nitrogen Loading Depends on Sediment Nutrient Characteristics
High nitrogen (N) loading may contribute to recession of submerged macrophytes in shallow lakes; yet, its influences vary depending on environmental conditions. In August 2013, we conducted a 28-day factorial-designed field mesocosm experiment in Lake Taihu at the Taihu Laboratory for Lake Ecosystem Research (TLLER) to examine the effects of high N loading on the growth of Vallisneria natans in...

A pad-plate method of assaying residual amounts of chlortetracycline (CTC) and oxytetracycline (OTC) using Bacillus cereus 213 was used to determine amounts of antibiotic left in tissues and eggs of poultry fed 1,000 and 200 ppm of CTC and OTC in basal feed mixtures. The effects of various methods of cooking the tissues and eggs and the potentiating effect of terephthalic acid (TPA) were studie...

15 صفحه اولResponses of the submerged macrophyte Vallisneria natans to elevated CO2 and temperature
Inorganic carbon and temperature are 2 important factors that regulate the growth of submerged macrophytes. However, experimental evidence regarding the eco-physiological changes that occur in submerged macrophytes in response to elevated CO2 and temperature is still limited. To investigate how the submerged macrophyte Vallisneria natans (Hydrocharitaceae), a common species in the waters of the...
