Towards safe and efficient functional reactive programming
Functional Reactive Programming (FRP) is an approach to reactive programming where systems are structured as networks of functions operating on time-varying values (signals). FRP is based on the synchronous data-flow paradigm and supports both continuous-time and discretetime signals (hybrid systems). What sets FRP apart from most other reactive languages is its support for systems with highly ...
متن کاملTowards safe and effective phytomedicines:the need for standardization
Over the past 20 years herbal medicinal products have become a topic of increasing global importance, with both medical and economic implications. In developing countries in Africa and Asia, botanicals have always played a central role in healthcare. Data from WHO suggest that 65 to 80% of the populations in these countries depend on traditional and botanical medicines as the primary source of ...
متن کاملProgresses towards safe and efficient gene therapy vectors
The emergence of genetic engineering at the beginning of the 1970's opened the era of biomedical technologies, which aims to improve human health using genetic manipulation techniques in a clinical context. Gene therapy represents an innovating and appealing strategy for treatment of human diseases, which utilizes vehicles or vectors for delivering therapeutic genes into the patients' body. How...

متن کاملSpontaneous delivery through a cervical tear without cervical os dilatation
Spontaneous delivery through a cervical tear, provoked by prostaglandin-induced uterine contractions, was described in a G2P0 woman with a history of cervical dilatation and uterine curettage. This rare complication with potentially serious maternal-fetal consequences can be predicted by an aberrant cervical response to prostaglandins in parturients with previous cervical interventions.
