Towards an optimized management of accidents

Nuclear safety has been one of the main research domains in EURATOM programs for decades, and accident prevention mitigation have drawn much attention paid over years to this framework. In essence interest are designs reliable systems, accurate methods estimate risk, a permanent search optimizing management. This is focus PIACE, MUSA, AMHYCO projects. A fully passive system decay heat removal off-nominal conditions based on concept isolation condenser subject PIACE. harmonized approach analyzing uncertainties sensitivities associated with severe accidents, particularly source term environment, final aim MUSA. And finally, exploring potential enhancing management combustible gas risk. Despite project’s diversity, they all will converge same outcome: an optimization nuclear from better risk estimating methods, in-accident guidelines. These projects received funding H2020 training program under grant agreements 847715 (PIACE), 847441 (MUSA), 945057 (AMHYCO).
