Towards a Decolonization of Counseling

چکیده

The racist violence that occurred during the summer of 2020 was a tipping point forcing many people and institutions to acknowledge address racial inequities in United States. As “conscience” ACA, Counselors for Social Justice (CSJ) responded this crisis through immediate action strategic planning. This article discusses process used by CSJ leaders meet mission “promoting social justice…through confronting oppressive systems power privilege affect professional counselors our clients assist positive change society development counselors” critical time. Recommendations moving toward decolonization counseling practice, supervision, education, research also are provided.
