$$ t\overline{t}t\overline{t} $$ signatures through the lens of color-octet scalars

We reinterpret two recent LHC searches for events containing four top quarks ($t\bar{t}t\bar{t}$) in the context of supersymmetric models with Dirac gauginos and color-octet scalars (sgluons). explore whether sgluon contributions to four-top production cross section $\sigma(pp \to t\bar{t}t\bar{t})$ can accommodate an excess recently reported by ATLAS collaboration. also study constraints on these from search new phenomena jets missing transverse energy ($E_{\text{T}}^{\text{miss}}$) sensitive signals quarks. find that analyses provide complementary constraints, + $E_{\text{T}}^{\text{miss}}$ exceeding measurement sensitivity sgluons heavier than about 800 GeV. ultimately either a scalar or pseudoscalar currently fit range reasonable benchmark scenarios, though minimal gaugino is ruled out. finally offer projections at HL-LHC, mapping $5\sigma$ discovery potential parameter space computing exclusion limits 95% CL scenarios where no found.
