Totalitarianism and Class Warfare in George Orwell’s Animal Farm

This article studies the struggle between classes in George Orwell’s novel Animal Farm (1945). The most suitable school of literary criticism to tackle such a subject is that Marxism. Two basic Marxist principles are at center study: class conflict and notion base superstructure. addresses ongoing occurring humans pigs on one hand lower-class animals other. Three main questions have been addressed: In what ways does upper oppress lower? How lower respond? What outcome struggle? study uncovers major factors allow overcome Farm. response consists both constructive destructive attitudes. balance ultimately tipped towards authoritarianism, leading live conditions worse than those pre-revolutionary period.
