Torque teno virus loads after kidney transplantation predict allograft rejection but not viral infection

چکیده
The main challenge of immunosuppressive therapy after solid organ transplantation is to create a new immunological balance that prevents rejection and does not promote opportunistic infection. Torque teno virus (TTV), ubiquitous non-pathogenic single-stranded DNA virus, has been proposed as marker functional immunity in immunocompromised patients. Here we investigate whether TTV loads predict the risk common viral infection allograft kidney recipients. In retrospective cohort 389 recipients, individual were measured by qPCR consecutive plasma samples during one year follow-up. endpoints rejection, BK polyomavirus (BKPyV) viremia cytomegalovirus (CMV) viremia. Repeated measurements survival data analysed joint model. During follow-up, detection transplant recipients increased from 85 100%. median load 107 genome copies/ml within three months transplantation. Rejection, BKPyV CMV occurred 23%, 27% 17% patients, respectively. With every 10-fold load-increase, decreased considerably (HR: 0.74, CI 95%: 0.71–0.76), while remained same 1.03, 1.03–1.04 HR: 1.01, 1.01–1.01). conclusion, kinetics but potential use levels guide for optimal drug dosage prevent deserves further validation.

Torque Teno Virus (TTV) Infection
TTV has been recently identified as a causative agent of non-A to non-G hepatitis. However, the exact role of this virus in the pathogenesis of chronic liver disease (CLD) and the development of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remain controversial. To clarify these issues, the prevalence of this virus and its impact on the severity of liver disease and development of HCC among Egyptian patients ...

Rejection of the transplanted kidney in humans is still a major cause of morbidity and mortality. The mouse model of renal transplantation closely replicates both the technical and pathological processes that occur in human renal transplantation. Although mouse models of allogeneic rejection in organs other than the kidney exist, and are more technically feasible, there is evidence that differe...

Torque teno virus (TTV) is a single-stranded DNA virus that has been detected in serum of primate and non-primate species including swine. Little information on swine TTV infection and transmission dynamics is nowadays available. The goal of this study was to gain insight into the potential role of the sow in transmitting TTV to piglets and the infection dynamics of both swine TTV genogroups (T...
