TOPOGRAPHY OF NUTRIENT FORAMINA OF ADULT DRY RADII IN SOUTH INDIAN POPULATION WITH A NOTE ON ITS SURGICAL RELEVANCE

Objective: The objective of this study was to the average length adult dry radii in south Indian population, distribution nutrient foramina, and foraminal index. Methods: This conducted using 200 dry, radii, obtained from department Anatomy at our institute. Fully formed both sides genders were included study. Length each bone, distribution, direction foramina on diaphysis studied with help a Vernier caliper. Later, foramen index estimated for all bones Hughes formula. data tabulated analyzed statistically. Results: Average 23.37±1.65 cm. All had their directed proximally. About 2% sample double foramina. Increased number no effect bone. As many as, 57.5% anterior surface shaft. Mean 34.24±4.75. Conclusion: provides population-specific regarding topography radii. An attempt made acknowledge its relevance while harvesting vascular graft.
