Top Executives Work-Life Balance, Job Burnout and Turnover Intentions: Moderated-Mediation with Knowledge Sharing Culture

New Zealand top executives are seldom explored, and this paper examines the role of work-life balance (WLB) on executives’ turnover intentions, with job burnout mediating relationship. It is expected that strong WLB will be aided stronger wellbeing (lower burnout) work behaviours turnover). Beyond these relationships, knowledge sharing culture (KSC) included as a moderator combined, moderated mediation model tested. Using data from 126 executives, we find negatively related to emotional exhaustion, cynicism, cynicism fully influence intentions. A significant effect found, which indicates indirect intentions through did vary, diminishing KSC becomes stronger. At levels above 0.2SD KSC, no longer has turnover. The findings add new insights into understanding in Zealand, especially around boundary conditions highlight complexity executive talent retention.
