چکیده

Catalyst Immobilization methods are important for providing better recovery of catalyst in photocatalytic treatment. The aim is to characterize and evaluate the performance TiO2/ZnO-coated clay beads. titanium dioxide/zinc oxide (TiO2/ZnO)-coated beads were prepared via sol-gel process. Various ZnO powder ratios gave different TiO2/ZnO composites sol. Four layers sol coated on dried oven at 100°C 30 min. calcined 500°C one hour every two layers. Characterization was done using a scanning electron microscope energy dispersive spectroscopy. increased surface area small agglomeration optimum loading (5 g) resulted highest degradation efficiency recorded 86.57%. An effective immobilization achieved good recycling Degradation rate data presented by pseudo-first-order kinetics. It observed that average TiO2/5 g 0.00836 min–1. actual results this work can be applied as guideline preparation with high performance.

The effect of titanium dioxide alumina beads on the photocatalytic degradation of picloram in water.

Photocatalytic degradation of pesticides with titanium dioxide (TiO(2)) and other catalysts has shown promise as a potential water remediation method. Titanium-based powders have been used in photocatalytic degradation studies but have limitations. The objective of this study was to determine picloram degradation in water using various UV light sources and low-pressure metal organic chemical va...

Titanium dioxide photocatalytic inactivation of prions.

Prions are postulated to be the infectious agents of a family of transmissible, fatal, neurodegenerative disorders affecting both humans and animals. The possibility of prion transmission constitutes a public-health risk that confronts regulatory authorities everywhere. The main problem in handling prions is the fact that they are extremely resistant to standard decontamination methods. Thus, t...

Reusable photocatalytic titanium dioxide-cellulose nanofiber films.

Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is a well-studied photocatalyst that is known to break down organic molecules upon ultraviolet (UV) irradiation. Cellulose nanofibers (CNFs) act as an attractive matrix material for the suspension of photocatalytic particles due to their desirable mechanical and optical properties. In this work, TiO2-CNF composite films were fabricated and evaluated for photocatalytic ac...

Heterogeneous photocatalytic decomposition of saturated carboxylic acids on titanium dioxide powder. Decarboxylative route to alkanes

The heterogeneous photocatalytic decomposition of acetic acid/acetate mixtures was studied on n-type Ti02 powder. The influence of solution composition, reaction temperature, light intensity, and semiconductor properties (crystallographic structure, doping) was investigated. For photodecarboxylation in the absence of molecular oxygen, anatase powders proved to be most efficient with increased r...
