Tissue-Specific and Differential Cold Responses in the Domesticated Cold Tolerant Fugu

چکیده

Domestication can be defined as the artificial selection in animals to achieve morphological, physiological, and developmental conformity human needs, with aim of improving various limitations species under a feeding environment. The future sustainability aquaculture may rely partly on availability numerous domesticated fish species. However, underlying adaptive mechanisms that result domestication are still unclear. Because they poikilothermic, temperature is key environmental element affects entire life fish, so studying association between physiological behavioral changes low-temperature provide model for understanding response cold stress. Through 5 generations 10 years at low temperatures, we used cold-tolerant fugu biological compare transcriptome brain liver tissues study effects stress fish. It was found expression genes such apoptosis, p53, oxidative phosphorylation, mitochondrial ?-oxidation significantly lower than wild type due stress, while excessive energy metabolism would lead production reactive oxygen (ROS) exacerbate damage, thus causing rollover coma. Meanwhile, signaling pathways involved glycogenolysis lipid metabolism, insulin signaling, adipocytokines, mTOR pathways, were up-regulated fugu. Although pathway increased tissues, not enriched apoptotic. These phenomena predict conditions, employs dynamic inter-organ metabolic regulation strategy cope reduce damage tissues.

Evaluation of six cold-season turfgrasses responses to lead phytotoxicity for screening tolerant species

Lead (Pb) is one of the most hazardous heavy metal that caused serious problems for ecosystem at recent years. In this study, the effect of Pb on seed germination, incipient growth and antioxidant enzymes of six common used turfgrasses was investigated. The results showed that after implementation of different concentrations (0, 1000, 2000 and 3000 µM) of Pb, Agropyron elongatum exhibited the h...

Cytological Responses of Brown Fat Tissue in Cold-exposed Rats

In young adult laboratory rats exposed to cold (6 degrees C) the brown adipose tissue undergoes time-dependent increases in cellularity, vascular supply, and total mass. These changes are largely complete after 16 days in the cold and concurrent generally with the development of a thermoregulatory state not greatly dependent upon shivering. Histologically the brown fat changes from a tissue hav...

Identification of Upregulated Genes under Cold Stress in Cold-Tolerant Chickpea Using the cDNA-AFLP Approach

Low temperature injury is one of the most significant causes of crop damage worldwide. Cold acclimatization processes improve the freezing tolerance of plants. To identify genes of potential importance for acclimatzation to the cold and to elucidate the pathways that regulate this process, global transcriptome expression of the chickpea (Cicer arietinum L), a species of legume, was analyzed usi...

Cardiovascular responses to cold exposure.

The prevalence of hypertension is increased in winter and in cold regions of the world. Cold temperatures make hypertension worse and trigger cardiovascular complications (stroke, myocardial infarction, heart failure, etc.). Chronic or intermittent exposure to cold causes hypertension and cardiac hypertrophy in animals. The purpose of this review is to provide the recent advances in the mechani...
