Tissue Metabolic Responses to Artificial Bending and Gravitation Stimuli in Betula platyphylla

چکیده
Betula platyphylla Suk (Asian white birch) is an economically important tree species in the paper-pulping and biofuel industries. To investigate mechanism of wood formation at metabolic level, we evaluated responses associated with tension-wood formation. Four-year-old trees were subjected to artificial bending treatment for 6 weeks. The xylem growth rate tension (TW) was significantly faster than that opposite (OW), it exhibited a higher cellulose content. Metabolomics analysis performed on metabolites TW, OW normal (NW), 183 identified, which levels 142 altered between groups. Metabolites related fatty-acid amino-acid metabolism, glycolytic pathway, metabolism fructose, mannose starch sucrose abundant TW. Glucose 1-phosphoric acid, fructose development elevated. Levels xylitol ribosol (related conversion glucose), coniferol (the main monomer lignin) shikimic acid (an intermediate lignin synthesis) decreased These are likely involved development.

Comprehensive Transcriptome Analysis of Developing Xylem Responding to Artificial Bending and Gravitational Stimuli in Betula platyphylla
Betula platyphylla Suk (birch) is a fast-growing woody species that is important in pulp industries and the biofuels. However, as an important pulp species, few studies had been performed on its wood formation. In the present study, we investigated the molecular responses of birch xylem to artificial bending and gravitational stimuli. After trunks of birch trees were subjected to bending for 8 ...
متن کاملThe responses of horses to predator stimuli
It is not known whether the instincts of wild horses have remained strong during their centuries of domestication. Knowledge of this matter would give riders the opportunity to know more about the behavior of horses and consequently about safety for both horses and riders. In this current research, we studied the behavior of fifteen Caspian miniature horses of different ages and sexes using sti...
متن کاملTranscriptomic Analysis of Phenotypic Changes in Birch (Betula platyphylla) Autotetraploids
Plant breeders have focused much attention on polyploid trees because of their importance to forestry. To evaluate the impact of intraspecies genome duplication on the transcriptome, a series of Betula platyphylla autotetraploids and diploids were generated from four full-sib families. The phenotypes and transcriptomes of these autotetraploid individuals were compared with those of diploid tree...
متن کاملAn Ethylene-responsive Factor BpERF11 Negatively Modulates Salt and Osmotic Tolerance in Betula platyphylla
Ethylene responsive factors (ERFs) play important roles in the abiotic stress; however, only a few ERF genes from woody plants have been functionally characterized. In the present study, an ERF gene from Betula platyphylla (birch), BpERF11, was functionally characterized in response to abiotic stress. BpERF11 is a nuclear protein, which could specifically bind to GCC boxes and DRE motifs. BpERF...
متن کاملDevelopment of SSR Markers and Genetic Diversity in White Birch (Betula platyphylla)
In order to study genetic diversity of white birch (Betula platyphylla), 544 primer pairs were designed based on the genome-wide Solexa sequences. Among them, 215 primer pairs showed polymorphism between five genotypes and 111 primer pairs that presented clear visible bands in genotyping 41 white birch plants that were collected from 6 different geographical regions. A total of 717 alleles were...
