Time Series Analysis of Land Cover Change in Dry Mountains: Insights from the Tajik Pamirs

چکیده
Greening and browning trends in vegetation have been observed many regions of the world recent decades. However, few studies focused on dry mountains. Here, we analyze land cover change Western Pamirs, Tajikistan. We aim to gain a deeper understanding these changes thus improve remote sensing mountainous areas. The study area is characterized by complex set attributes, making it prime example for this purpose. used generalized additive mixed models trend estimation 32-year Landsat time series (1988–2020) modified soil adjusted index, data, environmental socio-demographic data. With approach, were able cope with typical challenges that occur analysis areas, including background noise irregular found greening coexist they vary according class, topography, geographical distribution. was detected predominantly agricultural forestry indicating direct anthropogenic drivers change. At other sites, corresponds well increasing temperature. Browning frequently linked disastrous events, which are promoted temperatures.

Time Series Analysis of Land Cover Change: Developing Statistical Tools to Determine Significance of Land Cover Changes in Persistence Analyses
Despite the existence of long term remotely sensed datasets, change detection methods are limited and often remain an obstacle to the effective use of time series approaches in remote sensing applications to Land Change Science. This paper establishes some simple statistical tests to be applied to NDVI-derived time series of remotely sensed data products. Specifically, the methods determine the...
متن کاملLand Use and Land Cover Change Dynamics across the Brazilian Amazon: Insights from Extensive Time-Series Analysis of Remote Sensing Data
Throughout the Amazon region, the age of forests regenerating on previously deforested land is determined, in part, by the periods of active land use prior to abandonment and the frequency of reclearance of regrowth, both of which can be quantified by comparing time-series of Landsat sensor data. Using these time-series of near annual data from 1973-2011 for an area north of Manaus (in Amazonas...

15 صفحه اولApplication of Time Series Landsat Images to Examining Land-use/Land-cover Dynamic Change.
A hierarchical-based classification method was designed to develop time series land-use/land-cover datasets from Landsat images between 1977 and 2008 in Lucas do Rio Verde, Mato Grosso, Brazil. A post-classification comparison approach was used to examine land-use/land-cover change trajectories, which emphasis is on the conversions from vegetation or agropasture to impervious surface area, from...
