Tigrigna language spellchecker and correction system for mobile phone devices

This paper presents on the implementation of spellchecker and corrector system in mobile phone devices, such as a smartphone for low-resourced Tigrigna language. Designing developing spell checking language is challenging task. script has more than 32 base letters with seven vowels each. Every first letter six suffixes. Word formation depends mainly root-and-pattern morphology exhibits prefixes, suffixes, infixes. A few project have been done desktop application nature Ethiopic characters. However, this work we proposed systems modeling spellchecker, detecting correction: corpus 430,379 words used. To indication validity model algorithm designed, prototype developed. The experiment tested accuracy correction devices achieved 92%. result shows clearly that efficient spellchecking correcting relevant suggested correct reduces misspelled input writing devices.
