Tietze Equivalences as Weak Equivalences

چکیده
A given monoid usually admits many presentations by generators and relations the notion of Tietze equivalence characterizes when two describe same monoid: it is case one can transform presentation into other using families so-called transformations. The goal this article to provide an abstract geometrical understanding well-known fact, constructing a model structure on category presentations, in which are weakly equivalent they present monoid. We show that transformations form pseudo-generating family trivial cofibrations give proof completeness these argument setting.

Equivariant weak n-equivalences
The notion of n-type was introduced by J.H.C. Whitehead ([22, 23]) where its clear geometric meaning was presented. Following J.L. Hernandez and T. Porter ([12, 13]) we use the term weak n-equivalence for a map f : X → Y of path-connected spaces which induces isomorphisms πk(f) : πk(X)→ πk(Y ) on homotopy groups for k ≤ n. Certainly, weak n-equivalence of a map determines its n-connectedness bu...
متن کاملWeak Equivalences of Simplicial Presheaves
Weak equivalences of simplicial presheaves are usually defined in terms of sheaves of homotopy groups. We give another characterization using relative-homotopy-liftings, and develop the tools necessary to prove that this agrees with the usual definition. From our lifting criteria we are able to prove some foundational (but new) results about the local homotopy theory of simplicial presheaves.
متن کاملThe Accessibility Rank of Weak Equivalences
We study the accessibility properties of trivial cofibrations and weak equivalences in a combinatorial model category and prove an estimate for the accessibility rank of weak equivalences. In particular, we show that the class of weak equivalences between simplicial sets is finitely accessible.
متن کاملEquivalences in Bicategories
In this paper, we establish some connections between the concept of an equivalence of categories and that of an equivalence in a bicategory. Its main result builds upon the observation that two closely related concepts, which could both play the role of an equivalence in a bicategory, turn out not to coincide. Two counterexamples are provided for that goal, and detailed proofs are given. In par...
متن کاملProcess Equivalences as Global Bisimulations
Bisimulation can be defined in a simple way using coinductive methods, and has rather pleasant properties. Ready similarity was proposed by Meyer et al. as a way to weakening the bisimulation equivalence thus getting a semantics defined in a similar way, but supported for more reasonable (weaker) observational properties. Global bisimulations were introduced by Frutos et al. in order to study d...
