THz Band Channel Measurements and Statistical Modeling for Urban D2D Environments

THz band is envisioned to be used in 6G systems meet the ever-increasing demand for data rate. However, before an eventual system design and deployment can proceed, detailed channel sounding measurements are required understand key characteristics. In this paper, we present a first extensive set of urban outdoor environments that ultra-wideband, double-directional where both transmitter receiver at same height. all, 38 locations, consisting nearly 50,000 impulse responses, representing line-of-sight (LoS) non-line-of-sight (NLoS) cases 1-100 m range between 145-146 GHz. We provide modeling path loss, shadowing, delay spread, angular multipath component (MPC) power distribution Qtapnumber. find, among other things, communication over tens meters feasible frequency even NLoS scenarios, omni-directional spreads up 100 ns, directional 10 ns observed, while also quite significant, surprisingly large number MPCs observed 1 GHz bandwidth 13° beamwidth. These results constitute important step towards better understanding wireless band.
