چکیده

The throttle mechanism, a regulatory technique of engine output, is accompanied by loss some energy. effect intake air throttling on the performance and emissions multi-cylinder spark ignition gasoline was experimentally investigated. coupled to hydraulic dynamometer equipped with customized cooling system for both dynamometer. Experimental tests were performed various speeds air-fuel ratios at WOT POT conditions optimized timing. acquired results recorded that better operation could be achieved in terms bmep, bsfc, ηb, CO, CO2 UHC compared POT. At same time, worst trend noticed NOx concentration due higher conversion efficiency fuel combustion. In speed conditions, operating 3000 rpm represents minima ϕ, CO UHC; maxima fluctuation sides this point. Maximum values ηb about 30.55% 28. 55%, while minimum bsfc 274 293 g/kW.h respectively. maximum bmep obtained 2500 940 kPa 904 kPa, 1525 977 ppm

Effect of Injection Characteristics on Emissions and Combustion of a Gasoline Fuelled Partially-premixed Compression Ignition Engine

Conventional compression ignition (CI) engines are known for their high thermal efficiency compared to spark ignited (SI) engines. Gasoline because of its higher ignition delay has much lower soot emission in comparison with diesel fuel. Using double injection strategy reduces the maximum heat release rate that leads to NOx emission reduction. In this paper, a numerical study of a gasoline fuel...

Performance and Emission Characteristics of Spark Ignition Engine Fuelled with Ethanol and Methanol Gasoline Blended Fuels

Depletion of fossil fuels and environmental pollution has led researchers to anticipate the need to develop bio-fuels. Alcohols are an important category of bio-fuels. Methanol can be produced from coal, biomass or even natural gas with acceptable energy cost. Also, gasification of biomass can lead to methanol, mixed alcohols, and Fischer–Tropsch liquids (Chum and Overend, 2001). Ethanol is pro...

Performance and Emissions of a 4- Cylinder Gasoline Engine with Controlled Auto-Ignition

Advanced combustion modes such as Controlled Auto-Ignition or Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition have been under much attention due to their ability to reduce both emissions and fuel consumption. Thus, this paper aims at demonstrating the achievement of Controlled Auto-Ignition combustion on a standard 4-cylinder gasoline engine with negative valve overlap (NVO) and analyzing its performan...

Study Of Performance Parameters Of Single Cylinder Four Stroke Spark Ignition Engine Using Gasoline - Ethanol Blends

The transport systems are dependent on the fossil fuels especially liquid fuels and these fuels are depleting at much faster rate than production. The consumption of fossil fuels is very unstable and directly affects the economy of our country as we are importing it from other nations so this factor has urged us to find other alternatives to prolong the usage of petroleum. Thus, by using bio-fu...
