چکیده

Abstract Milling is a complex process where machining quality influenced by tool geometry, chip flow, temperature, and wear. In recent years, the rapid development of computer technology has enabled use finite element simulation methods to study relationship between results various parameters. this study, three-dimensional thermal coupled Euler-Lagrange milling model proposed. This approach provided unique advantages in terms stability computational speed. The showed good agreement with corresponding experimental cutting tests further information on heat source distribution characteristics, which form basis for theoretical investigations.

Coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian (CEL) Modeling of Material Flow in Dissimilar Friction Stir Welding of Aluminum Alloys

In this work, the finite element simulation of dissimilar friction stir welding process is investigated. The welded materials are AA 6061-T6 and AA 7075-T6 aluminum alloys. For this purpose, a 3D coupled thermo-mechanical finite element model is developed according to the Coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian (CEL) method. The CEL method has the advantages of both Lagrangian and Eulerian approaches, whic...

Dynamic Fracture Analysis Using an Uncoupled Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian Finite Element Formulation

This paper deals with the implementation of an efficient Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian (ALE) formulation for the three dimensional finite element modeling of mode I self-similar dynamic fracture process. Contrary to the remeshing technique, the presented algorithm can continuously advance the crack with the one mesh topology. The uncoupled approach is employed to treat the equations. So, each t...

Three-dimensional thermomechanical modeling of oceanic spreading initiation and evolution

This work employs high-resolution 3D thermomechanical numerical models of the incipient oceanic spreading to investigate nucleation and long-term evolution of ridge-transform spreading patterns. The Eulerian–Lagrangian visco-plastic model allows for large strains and accounts for plate cooling by both heat conduction and hydrothermal circulation as well as for partial melting of the asthenosphe...

Claymore: Three-Dimensional Modeling Tool

We describes a method for manipulating a threedimensional object without considering conventional three independent orthogonal views. We apply the direct manipulation method to operate the threedimensional object. We propose \augmented manipulation" method which is an enhanced direct manipulation technique by using additional information. We implement three-dimensional modeling tool \Claymore" ...

Modeling of three-dimensional cutting forces in micro-end-milling

A new nominal uncut chip thickness algorithm for micro-scale end-milling is proposed by considering the combination of an exact trochoidal trajectory of the tool tip and tool run-out, and then the actual uncut chip thickness may be obtained from a comparison between the current accumulative uncut chip thickness and the minimum chip thickness. Due to the intermittency of the chip formation, the ...
