The conical-cylindrical shell is prone to stress concentration in the convex cone position under action of deep-sea pressures. This results unidirectional or bidirectional positive tensile stresses on surfaces shell. a large, welded structure. Welding residual was generated at cone-column joint position, resulting high-stress this location. Under both welding and seawater pressure, cracks easily form propagate weld toe, leading fatigue damage even structural failure. In paper, based seawater’s alternating load welding, three-dimensional crack propagation process studied for submarine effects depth shape ratio trend life were analyzed. can provide references predicting trend, assessing remaining evaluating safety

We investigate the process of slow intergranular crack propagation by the finite element method model and show that branching is induced by partial arresting of a crack front owing to the geometrical randomness of grain boundaries.
