Threat to survival, the main concern of breast cancer survivors: A qualitative content analysis

Background: Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed in world. The evaluation of breast patient’s experiences, allows identification those areas care that require to be improved. present study aimed explain survivors’ experiences. Methods: This qualitative was conducted using semi-structured interviews with 21 patients who were various stages (surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy, and post-treatment period), seven family members patient, five nurses, four specialists. Sampling performed by purposive method. Data analyzed conventional content analysis first recorded transcribed, then data Granheim Lundman's management done MAXQDA software version 10. To achieve trustworthiness, criteria presented Lincoln Guba used. Results: Four categories emerged as a result process. category “mental distress” comprised emotional strain negative consequences treatment, “perceived concerns” consist financial concerns disturbances life. “confusion care” inadequate knowledge about disease, symptom lack supportive center.
