چکیده

In numerical welding modelling, it is critically important to adopt a heat source model that fits the actual process since has significant influence on calculation accuracy of transient temperature field, especially near source. An inappropriate can produce an overestimated or underestimated leading displacement field errors in mechanical analysis. this study, new non-linear peridynamic employing variety models developed predict distribution and variation. More importantly, as essential physical phenomenon conduction, phase transformation considered model. The importance how latent change affect also emphasized. simulation results are compared with finite element method results. Close agreements observed which demonstrates capability proposed for thermomechanical analysis modelling.

Mathematical Analysis for the Peridynamic Nonlocal Continuum

We develop a functional analytical framework for a linear peridynamic model of a spring network system in any space dimension. Various properties of the peridynamic operators are examined for general micromodulus functions. These properties are utilized to establish the well-posedness of both the stationary peridynamic model and the Cauchy problem of the time dependent peridynamic model. The co...

A fully coupled thermomechanical 3D model for all phases of friction stir welding

Although friction stir welding (FSW) has made its way to industrial application particularly in the last years, the FSW process, its influences and their strong interactions among themselves are still not thoroughly understood. The lack of understanding mainly arises from the adverse observability of the actual process with phenomena like material flow and deposition, large material deformation...

Finite element modeling of friction stir welding—thermal and thermomechanical analysis

Friction stir welding (FSW) is a relatively new welding process that may have significant advantages compared to the fusion processes as follow: joining of conventionally non-fusion weldable alloys, reduced distortion and improved mechanical properties of weldable alloys joints due to the pure solid-state joining of metals. In this paper, a three-dimensional model based on finite element analys...

Thermomechanical modelling and force analysis of friction stir welding by the finite element method

Friction stir welding (FSW) is a solid-state jointing technology, in which the butted plates are heated, plasticized and jointed locally by the plunged probe and shoulder moving along the joint line. The residual stresses due to the thermomechanical performance of the material and the constraint of the welded plates by the xture are one of main concerns for this process. A prediction of the cla...

Development of a phase change model for volume-of-fluid method in OpenFOAM

In this present study, volume of fluid method in OpenFOAM open source CFD package will be extended to consider phase change phenomena with modified model due to condensation and boiling processes. This model is suitable for the case in which both unsaturated phase and saturated phase are present and for beginning boiling and condensation process needn't initial interface. Both phases (liquid-va...
