Thermal Response of Spring–Summer-Grown Black Gram (Vigna mungo L. Hepper) in Indian Subtropics

چکیده
The thermal environment of a crop is one the prime factors enhancing growth and production by regulating its physiological processes at different phenophases. To study impact regime on spring–summer-grown black gram (variety Pant Urd 31), an experiment was conducted with sowing dates (from first to third week March), soil application cobalt (Co) foliar sprays potassium (K) boron (B) in various combinations split–split plot design during 2020 2021. first-week-of-March-sown recorded more accumulated growing degree-days (GDD), photothermal units (PTU) heliothermal (HTU) longer duration than later sown crop. Higher daily mean temperature reproductive stage compelled it complete phenophases earlier normally crop, leading yield reduction. Agronomic Traits and Total Seed Protein in Black Gram Vigna Mungo (l.) Hepper
This study evaluated agronomic traits of 111 genotypes of black gram Vigna mungo (L.) Hepper, mainly from Pakistan, to determine the extent of genetic diversity. Seed proteins were analyzed by SDS-PAGE. High genetic variance was observed for days to flowering, days to maturity, number of branches/plant, number of pods/plant, biomass/plant, grain yield/plant and harvest index, whereas low geneti...
متن کاملMapping of Mungbean Yellow Mosaic India Virus (MYMIV) and powdery mildew resistant gene in black gram [Vigna mungo(L.) Hepper]
Black gram, one of the important species of Asian Vigna group of grain legumes, is widely grown in South Asia and is an important source of dietary protein. The two main biological constraints particularly Mungbean Yellow Mosaic India Virus(MYMIV) and powdery mildew pose a major threat to black gram production in India. Several reports on mapping mungbean yellow mosaic virus disease and powdery...
متن کاملEffect of seaweed liquid extract of Caulerpa scalpelliformis on growth and biochemical constituents of black gram (Vigna mungo (L.) Hepper)
Effect of Seaweed Liquid Extract (SLE) of Caulerpa scalpelliformis on growth and biochemical constituents of Vigna mungo was studied. The lower concentration of SLE of C. scalpelliformis (25%) enhanced the percentage of germination, shoot length, root length and biochemical constituents viz., chlorophyll, carotenoid, amino acid, reducing sugar and total sugar contents and α-amylase and β-amylas...
متن کاملESTIMATION OF VARIABILITY, HERITABILITY AND GENETIC ADVANCE IN MUTANT POPULATIONS OF BLACK GRAM (Vigna mungo L. Hepper)
Genetic variability and heritability estimates with genetic advance of traits are essential for crop improvement. In this investigation, variability induced by gamma rays and ethyl methane sulphonate (EMS) for different quantitative traits including plant height (cm), flowering time (days), number of primary branches per plant, number of clusters per plant, number of pods per plant, number of s...
متن کاملBLACK GRAM ( Vigna mungo ) - A hypolipidemic pulse
Cardiovascular problems have been haunting human populations for a long time with no specific cure. It is believed that a shift in the eating, and physical habits might have paved the way for the alarming increase in cardiovascular diseases. Increase in the lipid level has been pinpointed as an important risk factor. Hence epidemiological and clinical studies were undertaken throughout the worl...
