Thermal behaviours of clay mixtures during brick firing: A combined study of in-situ XRD, TGA and thermal dilatometry

چکیده

The mineralogical transformation of clay material is critical to the firing process for brick manufacturing. In this study, a series in-situ integrated techniques are used study properties two mixtures routinely production bricks at local factory in Queensland, Australia. In-situ XRD, thermal expansion/contraction, weight loss, and microstructural evolution bodies high temperature have been investigated. Illite/mica persists until 950 °C during process, while K-feldspar transforms into plagioclase with addition Ca cations from starting materials. A slower ramp rate decreases onset many reactions, including decomposition calcite nucleation/crystallisation mullite. An increase 1150 has significantly enhanced compressive strength prepared buttons. addition, six length changing steps identified across range 30 °C. contraction kaolinite between about 420 850 might compensate expansion typical bricks, may minimise potential failure ?- ?-quartz inversion. However, rapid shrinkage metakaolin above increases risk cracking manufactured bricks.

Thermal decomposition of dolomite under CO2: insights from TGA and in situ XRD analysis.

Thermal decomposition of dolomite in the presence of CO2 in a calcination environment is investigated by means of in situ X-ray diffraction (XRD) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The in situ XRD results suggest that dolomite decomposes directly at a temperature around 700 °C into MgO and CaO. Immediate carbonation of nascent CaO crystals leads to the formation of calcite as an intermediate...

a contrastive study of rhetorical functions of citation in iranian and international elt scopus journals

writing an academic article requires the researchers to provide support for their works by learning how to cite the works of others. various studies regarding the analysis of citation in m.a theses have been done, while little work has been done on comparison of citations among elt scopus journal articles, and so the dearth of research in this area demands for further investigation into citatio...

Thermal engineering of FAPbI3 perovskite material via radiative thermal annealing and in situ XRD

Lead halide perovskites have emerged as successful optoelectronic materials with high photovoltaic power conversion efficiencies and low material cost. However, substantial challenges remain in the scalability, stability and fundamental understanding of the materials. Here we present the application of radiative thermal annealing, an easily scalable processing method for synthesizing formamidin...
