Thermal and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Analysis of a Modified Two Stroke Spark Ignition Engine Block

چکیده

An engine block is the main supporting structure for other components of engine. Poor heat dissipation causes excessive thermal expansion and frictional wearing makes oil to lose its lubricating power. Therefore, there a need modify design in order improve effectiveness. In this analysis, two stroke spark ignition was initially used as reference model development modified model. Solidworks (2013) simulation software conduct computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis on models. The results shows that, maximum temperature gradient flux obtained during steady state transient were, 2.237×107 K/m, 3.6817×104 1.066×107 W/m2, 1.661×106 W/m2 model, while 1.771×106 4.913×104 7.970×107 2.211×106 respectively. that has an improved rate than CFD subjected high pressure air resistance This increases drag force acting While flow velocity round block, due fins modification have low restriction. It hereby recommended further validation should be carried out ascertain effectiveness performance can also by converting into triangular geometry.
