Thermal analysis of a solar still through CFD

Abstract Present work shows the results of thermal performance a single-slope solar still under different tilt angles glass cover, using numerical simulation through CFD. Simulations were carried out Computational Fluid Dynamics for glass-cover 10°, 20°, 30°, and 40°. For each angle, distributions temperature, density velocity fluid obtained. Besides, convective heat transfer coefficient between basin was calculated. As result, it found that water temperature differences cover increase as angle also increases. Furthermore, flow follows laminar regime 10° 20° angles, while 30° 40°, obeys turbulent behavior. Finally, show increases function ranging from 2.45 W/m 2 -K to 3.29 -K.
