چکیده

Abstract Standing wave thermoacoustic refrigerator uses stack, is the heart of cooling system. The porous stack in resonator tube develops temperature difference across for heat pumping upon loudspeaker sound interaction oscillating gas. In this paper, optimization stack-heat exchangers system and discussed using linear theory better COP power refrigerator. assumed to provide required acoustic with back volume gas spring Helium air are chosen because their thermophysical properties cost, compared other competent gases. 200 mm diameter optimized 28 K. theoretical results models DeltaEC simulation deriving conclusions. predicts 349 W at 0.998 helium, 139 1.133 air, respectively.

Radial wave thermoacoustic engines: Theory and examples for refrigerators and high-gain narrow-bandwidth photoacoustic spectrometers

A theoretical analysis of radial wave thermoacoustic engines in cylindrical resonators is developed. Impedance and pressure translation equations are presented for open sections of the resonator and for heat exchangers. Coupled first-order differential equations are given for pressure and impedance in the temperature gradient supporting engine section ~stack!. These quantities are used to calcu...

Evaluation of Thermoacoustic Cycles for Cooling Applications

The most promising applications for thermoacoustic cooling are investigated from the perspective of the thermodynamic second law efficiency in this paper. A design optimization program interacting with the thermoacoustic simulation program known as DELTAE was developed. Then it was applied to two of the most common configurations for standing-wave thermoacoustic coolers in order to determine th...

Optimization of thermoacoustic engine driven thermoacoustic refrigerator using response surface methodology

Thermoacoustic engines (TAEs) are devices which convert heat energy into useful acoustic work whereas thermoacoustic refrigerators (TARs) convert acoustic work into temperature gradient. These devices work without any moving component. Study presented here comprises of a combination system i.e. thermoacoustic engine driven thermoacoustic refrigerator (TADTAR). This system has no moving componen...

An Experimental and Theoretical Investigation of Corrosion Mechanism in a Metallic Stack

This paper presents an experimental and theoretical investigation of the causes of corrosion of stack in a cement plant. In this paper, information related to metallic stack failures are given in the form of a case study in Neka Cement Plant, Mazandaran, Iran. Heavy corrosion attacks were observed on the samples of stack. The failure can be caused by one or more modes such as overheating, stres...

Vortex Shedding at the End of Parallel-plate Thermoacoustic Stack in the Oscillatory Flow Conditions

This paper investigates vortex shedding processes occurring at the end of a stack of parallel plates, due to an oscillating flow induced by an acoustic standing wave within an acoustic resonator. Here, Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) is used to quantify the vortex shedding processes within an acoustic cycle phase-by-phase, in particular during the “ejection” of the fluid out of the stack. Stan...
