The wonderful world of intrinsic and intricate immunity responses in plants against pathogens
نویسندگان
چکیده
Plants, unlike animals, lack specialized mobile immune cells, so they do not have an adaptive system. Instead, plants can launch specific, self-tolerant responses and establish memory. Plants possess defense mechanisms that efficiently detect ward off potentially dangerous microorganisms. These start with multiple signalling processes responsible for sensation, recognition, signal collection conveying information between cells. Recognition occurs when microbial or pathogen-associated molecular patterns (MAMPs PAMPs) are detected, leading to MAMP- PAMP-triggered immunity (MTI PTI). Plant cells also recognize pathogens through effector-triggered (ETI), which relies on the function of pathogen’s avirulence (Avr) gene-coded effector proteins host’s resistance (R) R proteins, resulting in activation apoptosis-like cell death, known as hypersensitive response. In addition, reactive oxygen species (ROS) act a double-edged sword; either toxic versatile molecules plants. what miller wants is a theatre of heightened consciousness. he speaks of two passions in a man, the passion to "feel" and the passion "know". he belives that we can have more of the latter. he says: drama is akin to the other inventions of man in that it ought to help us know more and not merely to spend our feelings. the writing of the crucible shows us that he is trying to give more heightene...

15 صفحه اولEnergetics and the evolution of carnivorous plants--Darwin's 'most wonderful plants in the world'.
Carnivory has evolved independently at least six times in five angiosperm orders. In spite of these independent origins, there is a remarkable morphological convergence of carnivorous plant traps and physiological convergence of mechanisms for digesting and assimilating prey. These convergent traits have made carnivorous plants model systems for addressing questions in plant molecular genetics,...
متن کاملIntricate Roles of Mammalian Sirtuins in Defense against Viral Pathogens.
For a number of years, sirtuin enzymes have been appreciated as effective "sensors" of the cellular environment to rapidly transmit information to diverse cellular pathways. Much effort was placed into exploring their roles in human cancers and aging. However, a growing body of literature brings these enzymes to the spotlight in the field of virology. Here, we discuss sirtuin functions in the c...
